Two Atlassian Repricing Dates, 12 Days Apart: The Bigger Your Estate, the Worse Your Rate
On 1 October, Atlassian raises its own commission on Marketplace Connect apps — a cost app vendors don't absorb. On 13 October, cloud list prices rise too, banded by organization size: roughly 7% under 5,000 seats, 10% above it. Two repricing events, one bill, inside a fortnight.
Your App Bill Reprices First — 1 October
Twelve days before the platform increase below, Atlassian's own Marketplace pricing and billing documentation confirms a second, less visible change: the partner revenue share for Connect apps drops from 80% to 75%, effective October 1, 2026. Read the other way, Atlassian's commission on every Connect app your instance runs rises from 20% to 25% — the second such increase this year, after a rise from 15% to 20% on April 1, 2026.
Atlassian doesn't charge that five points directly to customers — it charges app vendors, and vendors reprice on their own schedules, in their own renewal notices, in amounts no Atlassian pricing page will ever show. That's one way the app line of a bill moves without any change on Atlassian's own price list. The one rate that does not move on October 1: Data Center apps, which stay at 75%, because there is nothing left to steer there.
The Seat Band Is the Finding
An annual Atlassian Cloud price increase is routine — Atlassian has raised list prices most years since 2023. What is new this cycle is that the increase scales against the size of your estate: organizations under 5,000 seats see roughly a 7% rise on Jira, Confluence and the Teamwork Collection; organizations over 5,000 seats see 10%. Enterprise plans land at 8% across those same products. The largest estates — the ones with the most configuration debt, the most Marketplace apps, and the least practical ability to move quickly — take the biggest percentage increase.
Atlassian's own cloud licensing FAQ spells out the lever: “If a quote is generated before October 13, 2026 PT, we will honor it under the prior price until the quote expires.” Annual customers don't even have to ask — the same FAQ says they “automatically receive a no-obligation quote to renew their subscription 90 days before it expires.” If that 90-day window falls before 13 October, requesting or accepting that quote locks the current price until it expires, which can run well past the increase itself.

Four Atlassian solution partners and licensing resellers — Adaptavist Group, SCHNEIDER IT Management, Elegance Group, and Canarys — published independently between 28 August and 9 September 2026, and their figures agree with each other on the percentages below. Atlassian's own licensing FAQ confirms the 13 October 2026 effective date; the percentage tables themselves still sit on a separate Atlassian page that hasn't been retrievable, so the numbers below remain partner-sourced.

The 13 October 2026 date and the quote-lock mechanic above are Atlassian's own words, from its cloud licensing FAQ. The percentages in the table below are not: no Atlassian-hosted page stating them could be found as of this writing, and every figure there still comes from a solution partner or licensing reseller. Four independent sources agreeing inside two weeks is strong corroboration — it is still not a primary source. Check for Atlassian's own Fiscal 2027 cloud pricing notice before treating the percentages as final, and re-verify before you rely on them for a renewal conversation.
Three Cost Events, One Quarter
Marketplace commission rises 1 October, the platform list price rises 13 October, and automation steps and other capabilities become metered on 3 December 2026. All three land in the same renewal conversation and the same budget quarter. An admin who modeled next year's Atlassian cost back in July is now wrong three times over — once on the app layer, once on the subscription price, and again on a usage layer that sits alongside both. That is three disciplines, three dates, and one bill.
